We are united by our shared humanity. But we are divided by our individuality. There are innumerable beneficial organizations, in religion and spirituality, politics, social movements, culture, etc. How can we come together without sacrificing our separate identities and individual truths?

Humanity Movement is a way of exploring our shared humanity, to see past differences and focus on what is good and beautiful in each particular effort. It is a non-ideological, non-partisan process of finding shared truths in the multitude of independent, creative voices. It is not meant to be a new way to subsume others under ourselves. Just the contrary: It is we humans linking arms across ideologies.

What is 'Humanity Movement'?

We do not want to create an umbrella, which shelters a multitude of creative forces. Our interest is simply in joining hands with any person or group that has a living sense of our shared humanity.

We do not want to undervalue differences, or to claim that we are the possessors of the truth. Our power to link together is based solely on our ability to see past differences and focus on what is good and beautiful in each particular effort. Separately we are doomed. Together in a creative partnership we will have an inexorable power—because our action (if it’s based on understanding) actually creates the new relationships and institutions as we work.

Humanity

We cannot avoid our humanity. As much as we may enjoy our private lives, we are intrinsically joined to each other, and enjoy or suffer the fate of those we do not know or do not want to know. Happiness is not attainable in private havens. The more we seek our own pleasure, the more isolated we become.

Shared humanity is a primary challenge and fact of our existence. Society is simply humanity writ large: it reveals our actual nature. Elemental society is our great potential: the visible expression of our authentic self.

How can we join together?

There is a constant movement of beauty and goodness in humanity, but our creative power is fragmented. There are hundreds of thousands of grassroots organizations around the world. People want to work together and achieve justice and peace. But we’re on the defensive against cold, brutal forces of society and our own nature.

Linking of people

Humanity movement is a non-ideological, non-partisan process that create forums to bring people together and nourish their interest in internal and social transformation.

Linking of organizations

We do not want to undervalue differences. We do not want to unfold an umbrella, which would shelter a multitude of creative forces. Our interest is simply in joining hands with any person or group that has a living sense of our shared humanity.

We are not possessors of the truth. Our ability to link up and work together is based solely on our ability to see past differences and focus on what is good and beautiful in each particular effort. Separately we are doomed. Together in a creative partnership we will have an inexorable power—because our action (if it’s based on understanding) actually creates the new relationships and institutions as we work.
